Caring for your furniture

Rattan

The frames of our poly-rattan furniture are treated with a zinc rustproof coating for extra weatherproof durability and can be kept outside all year. As such, our sets do not need a weather cover to protect them from the elements (although they can be useful to protect your furniture from garden debris).

You can extend the life of your poly-rattan furniture by cleaning it properly at regular intervals. All you need to do is use a bucket of lukewarm water, a soft sponge/cloth and a PH-neutral detergent. Do not use a pressure washer, as this may damage your furniture. We also recommend you don't use any coarse materials or bleaching agents as they can lead to cracks in the threads, scratches to the weave or discolouration.

Cushions

Our cushions are constructed from poly-cotton (a blend of polyester and cotton) which is commonly used to make clothes, bed sheets and pillow cases. It's a lightweight fabric which combines the soft, moisture absorbing cotton with the durable and non-iron properties of polyester. This makes it a long-lasting and comfortable fabric choice.

All of our cushions have a shower-proof coating but occasional washing will keep them at their best. We would recommend cool hand-washing in a mild detergent only.

As the cushions are shower-proof, we'd recommend bringing them inside overnight or in heavier rain - even if you do buy a weather cover. Many weather covers don't allow the cushions to breathe as they should, meaning that the fabric may start to sweat and become susceptible to mould.

We also recommend bringing them inside at night and during cold/wet weather to keep them in the best possible condition.
